Mangalore, Feb 20: A puja was held at Kadri Shree Manjunatheshwara Temple here on the day of Maha Shivaratri festival celebration on Monday February 20.
 
Devotees thronged the historic temple in good numbers and offered prayers.

The prayer was performed to seek blessings and universe welfare. Temple priest Rama Adiga led the religious rituals.

Renovation committee president A J Shetty, vice president Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, chief officer Ningaiah, manager Kusumadhar among others were present.

    Wish all Mangaloreans a happy shivarathri. Blessed are those who offerd prayers to Lord Manjunatheshwara of kadri on this special day .
    It is an unique opprtunity to all common people to perorm abhishekha themselves (not through the archaka's) on the linga of Chandramouleeshwara .But it is evident that this temple , even though belong to Kadri temple Management is neglected and no renovation/beautification done in recent days .I request all devotees to come forward and develop this small temple where a common man can offer his prayer directly to Lord Shiva.It is really hurting to see devotees perform abhishekha using plastic tumblers !!.Management of Kadri temple should take immediate action to replace these ones by copper/bronze kalashas.Hope devotees won't mind paying for this seva if charged!!
