Mangalore: 12 Vie for Top Spot at Soad-3 International Semi-final

Mangalore, Feb 20: The semi-final round of Mangalore leg of Soad-3 International, a Konkani singing reality show, was held at Kalaangann here on Sunday February 19.

The semi-final consisted of two rounds. In the first round, the contestants were required to sing sentimental songs, and in second, joyful numbers.

There were twelve contestants in all, six each in male and female categories. Among them, only one from each category will make it to the finals, which will be held in Qatar in May this year.

Robin Sequeira, Clement Fernandes, Melvyn D'Souza, Mario D'Cunha, Royston Roshan Pinto and Pratap Menezes were the contestants in the male category while Carol Monteiro, Jyotsna Fernandes, Jean Braggs, Joshal D'Souza, Loveleen D'Souza and Ovida Pinto

Music director Anil Patrao, Goan singer Lulu Fortes and Mandd Sobhann gurkar
Eric Ozario were the judges.

'Soad-3 International' is a concept hosted by two premier organizations - Mandd Sobhann and Mangalore Cricket Club (MCC), both well-known for their work and contributions to the growth and nurturing of Konkani language and culture over the last two decades.
