Sanaa, Dec 13: Yemen’s internationally recognised government on Friday said that at least 32 security personnel were killed and 45 others wounded in attacks carried out by groups affiliated with the Southern Transitional Council in the eastern province of Hadhramaut.
According to a report by the state news agency, the government blamed STC-linked forces for launching coordinated attacks targeting security units in the province. The clashes resulted in heavy casualties among government security personnel, it said.

Authorities said the situation in Hadhramaut remains tense following the violence, while security forces have been put on alert amid fears of further escalation.
The Southern Transitional Council, which is backed by the United Arab Emirates, has been at odds with Yemen’s internationally recognised government and seeks independence for southern Yemen.
