‘Srishtinova’ comes alive at St Aloysius Gonzaga School’s 14th Annual Day

Mangaluru, Dec 13: St Aloysius Gonzaga School celebrated its 14th Annual Day on December 12 in the school grounds with the theme “Srishtinova – A blend of science and nature.” The programme highlighted the harmonious integration of scientific progress, creativity, and respect for nature.

Raju K, KAS, additional deputy commissioner and additional district magistrate of Dakshina Kannada District, graced the occasion as the chief guest. In his address, he elaborated on the theme "Srishtinova" and encouraged students to pursue scientific advancement with curiosity, while remaining committed to protecting nature and upholding strong moral values. He highlighted the increasing impact of social media on young minds and urged parents to exercise discretion by limiting and guiding their children’s use of digital platforms.

The presidential address was delivered by Fr Melwin Pinto SJ, rector of St Aloysius Institutions. He emphasised that true progress lies in balancing scientific growth with ethical and moral values, and stressed the importance of holistic education rooted in Jesuit ideals.

The annual school report was presented by principal Fr Rohan D’Almeida SJ, who highlighted the school’s achievements in academics, sports, olympiads, cultural activities, ATL initiatives, environmental programmes, and community outreach.

The dignitaries were ceremoniously escorted to the venue by the principal, vice principals, programme coordinators, PTA representatives, and members of the student council. Students who excelled in academics and sports were felicitated on the occasion.

The cultural programme was a vibrant showcase of talent and creativity. It featured a delightful kindergarten performance, thematic dances by various class groups, a special song presentation, yoga, a fashion parade, and a skit by students of classes VI to XII. Each performance beautifully reflected the theme "Srishtinova", highlighting the harmony between scientific innovation and the beauty of creation, while reinforcing Jesuit values of environmental responsibility and thoughtful use of knowledge.

The programme was coordinated by Deepthi Karkada, Shilpa Ballal, Sushmitha K S, Beena Pais, Averyl J Rebello, and Gayathri Tanthri.
