Minor Quakes Hit China


Beijing, Feb 21 (IANS): Several minor quakes hit northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur region Monday evening, the China Earthquake Networks Centre said.

The quakes occurred in Hotan county, Xinhua reported.

The first quake, measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale, hit Hotan at 9.52 p.m. It was followed in around half an hour by three more quakes, measuring 4.8 to 3.1 on the Richter scale.
