Mangalore: Academic Excellence Awards Conferred on Young Achievers

Mangalore, Feb 21: Local MLA U T Khader said that the country will become stronger, if students from rural places gain strength. He was addressing the audience at the ‘Academic Excellence Awards’ function organized by Yenepoya Foundation at Yenepoya University, Deralakatte near here, on Monday February 20.

“It is regrettable that most of the people involved with treason now-a-days, are educated. All the educated people need to introspect on this phenomenon. At the same time, they should gain common sense and learn to create an environment of mutual trust and affection with fellow beings, along with gaining knowledge in other subjects,” he advised.

As many as 238 students from Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Kasargod districts, who cleared SSLC examination with high marks, and 19 minority institutions which registered cent percent results, received prizes and certificates on this occasion.

Certificates of free admission into Yenepoya University’s MBBS, dental, nursing and physiotherapy courses were distributed to five students for each of these courses, by vice chancellor of the university, Dr P Chandramohan.

Deputy speaker of the state assembly, N Yogish Bhat, MLA, B Ramanath Rai, Yenepoya University chancellor, Y Abdulla Kunhi, Islamic Academy of Education secretary, Dr Akhter Hussain, trustees, Dr C P Habib Rehman, Y Mohammed Javed, and Moidin Rizwan, were present.
