Sullia: Truck overturns onto Omni near Goonadka, driver critically injured

Sullia, Dec 22: A truck overturned onto a Maruti Omni car near Goonadka on December 21, leaving the truck driver critically injured.

The incident occurred when a truck carrying pipes was travelling from Madikeri towards Sullia. Near Goonadka, the truck rammed into an Omni car that was heading from Sullia towards Kallagundi, following which the truck overturned.

The Omni car was trapped under the truck. However, the car driver escaped unhurt as he was standing in a nearby shop at the time of the accident, preventing any loss of life.

The overturned truck was lifted using a JCB. The truck driver sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Sullia hospital in an ambulance. He is reportedly a native of Shivamogga.
