Sullia: Youth Alone Can Achieve Country's Development - Varun Gandhi

Sullia, Feb 22: MP from Pilibhit (UP) constituency and young BJP leader, Varun Gandhi, visited Lord Subrahmanya Temple in Kukke Subrahmanya in the taluk and paid obeisance to the presiding deity on Tuesday February 21.

Speaking to media persons during his visit, he stressed that the country’s future and overall development lies in the hands of awakened youth of the country.

"Their active participation is the most important ingredient for our success. The young brigade of India, which has leaders in several sectors, should evince interest towards cleansing the administration and providing transparent governance. I personally insist that youth should be given prominent responsibilities in politics," he said.

He offered Shesha Seve, Ashlesha Bali and Maha Puja at the temple, duly praying the Lord for the overall welfare of the country and his family. Temple priest, Satyanrayana Noorittaya, honoured him by draping a shawl around Gandhi.

Varun, who had arrived in Mangalore through a flight from Bangalore along with his close associates from Bangalore, Kameshwar Varma and Anubhav Poddar, reached Subrahmanya in a car late night on Monday. On his arrival at the temple, he was received by temple administrative officer and Puttur assistant commissioner, A C Sundar Bhat, tahsildar, Vydyanath, assistant executive officer of the temple, M H Ravindra, protocol officer, A Venkatraj, and local BJP leader, Dinesh B N, among others.

Varun Gandhi noted that the educated youth always support good work, and felt that this was the reason he has so many fans across the country. He insisted that he is a devoted fan of the country and its populace. “I have widely travelled Uttar Pradesh in connection with assembly elections there. I am positive BJP will rise to power there this time,” he added.

Varun Gandhi also visited Subrahmanya Mutt and paid obeisance to Lord Narasimhaswamy. Swamiji of the Mutt, Sri Vidyaprasannateertha, offered him Prasadam. After having breakfast at the temple, he visited Adi Subrahmanya.

Varun said that this was a private visit meant for seeking blessings from the Lord, and promised to come again soon in the company of his mother, who had visited the temple once, three months back. He requested the visual media representatives and other photographers not to click his photos.
