Mangaluru, Dec 24: The Sauharda Christmas Celebration 2025 was celebrated with great joy and harmony at St Aloysius Industrial Training Institute, Mangaluru, on December 23. The programme was organized with the objective of spreading the message of love, peace, unity, and interfaith harmony, which is the true spirit of Christmas.
The celebration was presided over by Fr John D’Souza SJ, director, St Aloysius ITI. The programme was graced by chief guests from different faiths, reflecting the spirit of Sauharda (harmony). The chief guests for the occasion were Naveen Shanthi, Archak - Sri Gokarnatheshwara Temple, Kudroli; Muhammed Ashiq Saqafi Al-Malhari - religious scholar, Ranganakere, Udupi and Dr Sandeep Theophil - registrar, Karnataka Theological College, Balmatta. The programme was further honoured by the presence of Sr Luciana - DK District Rajyotsava awardee and Sr Benedicta Fernandes. Roshan D’Souza - principal, Noel Lobo and Wilson N - training officers, Melwin D’souza - convener of the programme and Rivan D’Souza- president, student council were present for the programme.















The programme began with a prayer song led by EM 1st year students, invoking God’s blessings and setting a spiritual and peaceful tone for the celebration. This was followed by a warm welcome address by the principal, Roshan D’Souza.
The celebration was formally inaugurated with the Christmas cake cutting ceremony, symbolizing joy, sharing, and togetherness. The festive spirit was further enhanced by melodious Christmas carols sung by the sewing technology students, which filled the campus with cheer and enthusiasm.
A special moment of the programme was the felicitation of Sr Luciana in recognition of her dedicated service and her contribution to society. The felicitation ceremony was conducted with dignity and gratitude, acknowledging her inspirational life and work.
Various competitions such as star making, Christmas carol, and greeting card, were conducted as part of the Christmas celebrations. The winners were announced and prizes distributed the prize distribution ceremony was led by Noel Lobo - training officer and Alwyn Menezes, vice principal, encouraging students to express their creativity and talents.
The programme was enriched by inspiring Christmas messages delivered by the chief guests. Naveen Shanthi, Muhammed Ashiq Saqafi Al-Malhari, and Dr Sandeep Theophil shared meaningful messages emphasizing love, compassion, peace, mutual respect, and harmony among people of all faiths.
A special attraction of the celebration was the Christmas carols sung by the staff members, which added warmth and joy to the occasion. The programme concluded with the Presidential Address by Fr John D’Souza SJ, who spoke about the relevance of Christmas values in today’s world and encouraged students to practice kindness, humility, and service in their daily lives.
The programme came to a meaningful close with the vote of thanks proposed by Melwin D’Souza, convener, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the dignitaries, management, staff, students, organizers, and all those who contributed to the success of the celebration.
The Sauharda Christmas Celebration 2025 concluded on a joyful note with Christmas greetings and wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year, leaving behind cherished memories and reinforcing the message of peace, unity, and goodwill among all.
