Kuwait: Kannada Koota Celebrates 'Dasa Jayanti'

Kuwait, Feb 22: It was an unforgettable day for all the members of the Koota and the guests assembled at Salmiya Indian Model School when they were taken to an ecstatic world of divine “Radha Kalyana Mahotsava”.

Ladies and gentlemen of the Koota sang melodious divine Dasara keerthanegalu in praise of the Almighty. Suma Venkatesh, popular Carnatic vocalist was specially flown in from India which added melody and divinity.

Children of the Koota were a treat to watch when they came out on the stage in such colorful costumes in a special fancy dress competition organized by the cultural committee of the Koota.

It was due to painstaking effort and personal contacts of the president of the Koota Dr Surender Nayak, three eminent artists were specially flown in from India to add more variety to the function. Pandit Shankar Shanbhogue, an eminent Hindustani Vocalist, Prof Narendra Nayak, skilful harmonist and Prof T Ranga Pai, versatile tablist. These three artists mesmerized Koota members and invited guests that will live etched in the memory of assembled audience for a long time to come.

Pandit Shankar Shanbhogue rendered some soulful divine Dasa Keerthanas ably supported by ProfNarendra Nayak on the Harmonium and Prof T Ranga Pai on the tabla. KKK fraternity thanks Dr Nampoory, President of Indian Doctors Forum, Kuwait along with Dr Muralidhar and Dr Raina who graced the function.
 
The last event of the day was again special as members and guests were treated with delicious lunch served on plantain leaves in a traditional Mangalorean style. All in all members and guests returned with some sweet memories.
