Mangaluru, Dec 28: Tourist police personnel returned a lost mobile phone to a visitor at Tannirubavi Beach on December 27 evening.
A costly mobile phone belonging to a member of a group of tourists from Bengaluru was reported lost at Tannirubavi Beach on Saturday evening. Upon receiving information, tourist police personnel Raghavendra, serving as pravasi mitra, who was on duty at the spot, immediately swung into action and began an inquiry.

Within a short time, he traced the mobile phone, which had reached another person, and safely handed it back to the tourist who had lost it.
Raghavendra has earned appreciation and trust from tourists for his presence of mind and dedication to duty. Under a tourism department initiative, pravasi mitra personnel deployed at various tourist destinations across Karnataka have been responding promptly to issues faced by visitors and extending assistance, which has been widely appreciated.
Local residents have opined that the services rendered by pravasi mitra staff in ensuring the safety, security and protection of tourists and their belongings at tourist spots have drawn attention across the state and brought credit to the tourism department.
