Dr Jagadish Chandra assumes office as president of IDA Dakshina Kannada Branch

Mangaluru, Jan 1: Dr Jagadish Chandra, professor and head, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Yenepoya Dental College, Mangaluru, has assumed office as the president of the Indian Dental Association (IDA), Dakshina Kannada Branch. The assumption of office ceremony was held on December 26 at AJ Grand Hotel, Bunts Hostel, Mangaluru, in the presence of senior members of the dental fraternity, academicians, and colleagues.

The Indian Dental Association, Dakshina Kannada Branch, is one of the active local branches of the national association and has been instrumental in promoting continuing dental education, professional development, ethical practice, and community oral health awareness in the region.

Dr Jagadish Chandra began his journey in Yenepoya Dental College in 2003. He has over three decades of academic and clinical experience and has been associated with the Indian Dental Association for 25 years.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Chandra expressed his gratitude to his teachers, colleagues, and the IDA fraternity for their continued support. He emphasised the importance of strengthening academic activities, encouraging participation of young dentists, fostering professional unity, and enhancing community outreach initiatives during his tenure.

Colleagues congratulated Dr Chandra and expressed confidence that under his leadership, the IDA Dakshina Kannada Branch would continue to grow as a strong and progressive professional body.
