Noida, Jan 5: A 47-year-old South Korean national was allegedly stabbed to death by his live-in partner at a high-rise residential society in Noida’s Sector-150, police said on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Duck Hee Yuh, who was working as a branch manager with a reputed mobile phone company. He was living with his girlfriend, Lunjeana Pamai, a resident of Manipur, in the city. Yuh was taken to GIMS Hospital on January 4, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Police said the accused woman has been arrested and a case has been registered at the Knowledge Park Police Station.

According to investigators, the couple had been consuming alcohol late into the night when an argument broke out over an undisclosed issue. The verbal altercation soon escalated into a physical scuffle.

“In a fit of rage during the scuffle, the woman stabbed him in the chest. The wound was deep and he began bleeding profusely,” a police officer said.

Realising the seriousness of the injury, the woman rushed Yuh to the hospital, but he could not be saved. Police were informed early in the morning, following which an investigation was launched.

In an official statement, police said preliminary findings revealed that the two had been in a live-in relationship for a considerable period. During questioning, it emerged that the relationship was strained, with frequent disputes between the couple. The victim allegedly consumed alcohol heavily and often assaulted the woman, leading to repeated arguments.

The accused has reportedly told police that she did not intend to kill Yuh and that the stabbing occurred during the altercation. Officials said her claims are being verified as part of the ongoing investigation.

Further legal action will be taken based on the outcome of the probe, police added.
