Mangaluru, Jan 5: The New Year was welcomed with devotion, joy, and cultural vibrancy during a special celebration organised by St Agnes School CBSE on January 2 at the School Block Hall 1. The programme was held to mark the beginning of the New Year by nurturing spiritual reflection, unity, and positive values, while encouraging students to embrace fresh beginnings with hope, gratitude, and active participation.

The event commenced with a prayer service led by the students of grade 2D, invoking divine blessings for peace, prosperity, and guidance in the year ahead. This was followed by a graceful prayer dance, which conveyed devotion through expressive movements and set a serene tone for the celebration.

The gathering was formally welcomed through the welcome speech delivered by Hanika, who greeted the dignitaries, teachers, and students and highlighted the spirit of togetherness that the New Year brings. The significance of the day was presented by Arin, who spoke about the New Year as a time for fresh beginnings, renewed hopes, and positive growth.

Adding charm and cheer to the programme, the young learners presented a New Year rhymes dance, captivating the audience with their enthusiasm and innocence. The celebration continued with an energetic New Year dance performance, which reflected joy, rhythm, and youthful exuberance.

A key highlight of the programme was the presence of the chief guest, Tr Amitha, whose gracious presence added dignity to the occasion. In her address, she shared words of encouragement and inspired the students to approach the New Year with confidence, discipline, and optimism.

The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks proposed by Sheya, who expressed gratitude to the chief guest, organisers, teachers, students, and all those who contributed to the success of the celebration.
