Udupi, Jan 7: A scooter rider was killed on the spot after a sand-laden tipper lorry rammed into his vehicle near Unity Hall in Hangaluru on Wednesday January 7.
The deceased has been identified as Beejadi Krishnamurthy Adiga (55), a resident of Beejadi.
The incident occurred when the scooter was proceeding from Kundapur towards Koteshwara. A sand-laden tipper lorry coming from behind collided with the scooter. The impact threw the rider onto the road, causing severe head injuries, and he died on the spot.
Personnel from the Kundapur traffic police station rushed to the scene, conducted a spot inspection, and registered a case in connection with the incident. Further investigation is underway.
