Bantwal: Complaint filed after misuse of MLA’s photo on Facebook

Bantwal, Jan 7: Sadananda Bantwal of Bantwal taluk lodged a complaint on Wednesday, January 7 after noticing that a Facebook account named Billava Sandesh had allegedly posted disrespectful remarks and false propaganda using the photograph of the Sullia constituency MLA.

The complainant stated that the posts were intended to defame and spread misinformation about the legislator on social media. Following the report, the matter has been registered at the Bantwal Rural police station.

Authorities have confirmed that appropriate legal action will be initiated in accordance with the law. “We take complaints regarding defamation and misuse of social media very seriously,” a police official said.
