Mangaluru, Jan 9: Commuters in Mangaluru have been warned of traffic disruptions on January 10, as chief minister Siddaramaiah, deputy chief minister D K Shivakumar, and other dignitaries will participate in the Coastal Karnataka Tourism Convention and other programmes at Pilikula, Naringana, and Amblamogaru.
City police commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy has advised motorists to avoid the routes used by the VIP convoy unless absolutely necessary and to use alternative roads to ensure smoother travel.

Roads likely to experience heavy traffic include Kenjar Junction, Maravoor, Kavoor, Bondel, Padavinangady, Maryhill, Yeyyadi, KPT Circle, Battagudde, Kadri Kambla, Bharat Beedi Junction, Bunts Hostel, PVS, Navabharat Circle, Dr Ambedkar Circle, Hampanakatta, Kairali Junction, Attavar Katte, and the road in front of Avatar Hotel.
Additional areas expected to face congestion are Padavu Junction, Nanthoor Circle, Pumpwell, Ekkur, Jappinamogaru, Kallapu, Thokkottu, Kuthar Padavu, Deralakatte, Natekal, Mangalanti, Kalkatta Manjadi, Naringana, Kuttar Koragajjan Katte, Uliya, Amblamogaru, and Madka Junction.
No parking will be allowed on either side of KPT Junction, Kottar Chowki, Kodikal Cross, Kulur, KIOCL Junction, Tanneerbhavi, and Blue Flag Beach Road, and vehicles will not be permitted to travel in the opposite direction along these routes.
The commissioner emphasised, "Motorists are urged to plan their journeys in advance and avoid the affected routes wherever possible, except in emergencies, to ensure smooth movement of traffic and the VIP convoy."
Residents and commuters are advised to exercise caution and patience as authorities manage traffic during the high-profile visits.
