Puttur: Illegal timber transport busted on NH 75; forest officials seize vehicle, wood

Puttur, Jan 11: Officials of the Uppinangady forest range detected and seized illegally transported timber on National Highway 75 at Mannagundi in Kokradi village. The timber was being transported from Sakleshpur to Mangaluru without valid permits, and a case has been registered.

The value of the seized vehicle and timber is estimated to be around Rs 7 to Rs 8 lac.

Deputy range forest officer Vinay Kumar, Praveen P, forest guards Vinay Chandra, Shivananda Kuduri, Jagadeesh K N, and drivers Kishore and Dinesh took part in the operation.
