Punjab, Jan 12: Mudita Bansal’s journey to success in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024 stands as a powerful example of clarity of purpose, disciplined preparation, and unwavering determination. Achieving an impressive All India Rank 44 in her very first attempt, Mudita has shown that focused effort and smart strategy can turn aspirations into reality.

A native of Ludhiana, Punjab, Mudita was born to Ashish Bansal and Shelly Bansal in a supportive family environment that encouraged academic excellence and independent thinking. She completed her schooling at Sacred Heart Convent School, Ludhiana, before moving to Delhi to pursue higher education. An alumna of the prestigious Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), Delhi University, Mudita graduated with a degree in Economics, laying a strong academic foundation for her future pursuits.

Before stepping into the demanding world of civil services preparation, Mudita worked as a Management Consultant with Boston Consulting Group (BCG). Despite a promising corporate career, she chose to follow her long-cherished dream of joining the Indian Administrative Service. With a clear plan and strong self-belief, she began her UPSC preparation, dedicating around eight months to focused and structured study.

Mudita’s preparation strategy was marked by simplicity and consistency. Rather than overwhelming herself with excessive resources, she relied on limited study material, thorough revisions, and extensive practice of answer writing. Previous years’ question papers played a crucial role in shaping her understanding of the exam pattern and expectations, especially for the Mains examination. She opted for Sociology as her optional subject.

Equally important to her success was maintaining a balanced lifestyle. Mudita ensured that her daily routine included regular workouts and short breaks, helping her stay mentally fit and focused during the intense preparation phase. She also credits her family’s constant encouragement and emotional support as a key factor that kept her motivated throughout the journey.

Mudita Bansal’s achievement reinforces the idea that success in UPSC is not merely about long hours of study, but about smart preparation, mental resilience, and faith in oneself. Her transition from the corporate sector to the civil services now serves as a source of inspiration for countless aspirants across the country who dare to dream big and work steadily towards their goals.
