Udupi, Jan 12: A bike rider sustained leg injuries following a collision between a private bus and a motorcycle near Ambagilu here.

The accident occurred when a private bus travelling from Udupi towards Kundapur collided with a motorcycle that was taking a U-turn. Due to the impact, the biker suffered injuries to his leg and was immediately shifted to a hospital for treatment.

Road accidents have become frequent in the Ambagilu–Santhekatte stretch. With such incidents being reported almost daily, there is a growing demand for the concerned authorities to take permanent remedial measures and implement appropriate road safety steps to prevent further mishaps.

    Always this collision with bikes and motorcycles and buses.God when this will stop.?One has to keep up rules when taking a u turn.Not simply turn and run away.Better keep a sign at turning point .and should also follow it.Too many vehicles on road .and road is becoming too arrow for them.Police too must now watch the traffic and see that it functions smoothly wish biker all the best.

    No point in blaming anybody. Donot issue licence unless one gains proper driving skill and road rules. Scientific roads with signs like, give way, stop, R/A rules, lane hanging, extra lanes to take a u turn /right lane. No phone, helmet covering hand rather than head. This is the only way to reduce the accidents. As long as 2 wheelers understand the value of their life, no one can stop these accidents.

    Private buses are biggest threat to everyone the way they drive recklessly as the police are blind to take action.

    Best way to reduce road accidents. is to abolish the private bus mafia in the twin districts of Mangalore (D K) and Udupi.
