Udupi: Retired teacher Thonse B Lakshminarayana Rao passes away at 92

Udupi, Jan 14: B Lakshminarayana Rao (92), former president of the Udupi Thonse Valaya Brahmin Samiti and a retired teacher, passed away on Monday night (Jan 13) due to age-related ailments at a private hospital in Udupi.

Rao had served as a lecturer at Udupi Kemmannu Junior College and belonged to a respected family. He was a much-loved teacher who taught thousands of students during his long academic career. He is survived by his wife, a son, two daughters, six brothers, two sisters and a large number of relatives.

Family sources said that the mortal remains will be kept for public homage at his residence ‘Aradhana’ at Gudiyamkatte, Kemmannu, from 10.15 am to 11.15 am on Wednesday, after which the last rites will be performed at the Kemmannu crematorium.

Several office-bearers of the Thonse Valaya Brahmin Samiti and many other organisations have expressed their condolences over the demise of B Lakshminarayana Rao.
