Mangalore: St Agnes College Celebrates National Science Day

Mangalore, Feb 25: National Science Day was celebrated at St Agnes College here on Saturday February 25 in the college premises.

The event was jointly organized by the Karnataka Science & Technology Academy, Bangalore, state department of science & technology, and science forum of St Agnes College.

The celebration commenced with a formal inaugural function in the presence of V Nagarik, scientific officer-G, Kaiga Generating Station, governmentt of India, Dr Sr Prem D'Souza, principal, Dr Ita M D'Souza, coordinator and Dr H Jayantha, convener .

The programme was compered by Dr Ita M D'Souza and Dr H Jayantha welcomed the dignitaries and the gatherings.

The programmes later continued with a special lecture by V Nagarik on the topics 'Safety Aspects in Nuclear Energy Generation'.

Dr A Keshavaraj, senior principal scientist of air products, Allentown, USA, Dr Karunakara N, assistant professor of radioecology laboratory, USIC, Mangalore University, Dr Saraswathi Amma, Prof Saramma, staff and students were present on this occasion.
