Mangalore, Feb 25: St Joseph’s Natak Sangh of Jeppu celebrated 86th anniversary recently. Several parishioners gathered at the event.

Fr Stany Goveas, parish priest of Rosario cathedral was the chief guest. Social worker Dolphy Prashanth D’Souza was the other guest. Parish priest of Jeppu church, Fr Nelson D’Almeida, corporator Jacintha Alfred and Sr Jessy among others were present.

Director of Natak Sangh and manager of St Joseph’s workshop Fr J B Crasta welcomed the guests. The children of Infant Mary’s School performed a welcome dance. Sangh secretary Pamela Santos read the annual report and plans.Tresurer Prakash Fronteiro conducted prize distribution and Sangh president Michael D’Souza thanked the gathering.

Social Worker Dolphy D’Souza elaborated on one’s duty towards society, social responsibility towards community and social work for national development. Fr Nelson appreciated the goodwork undertaken by the Natak Sangh members and wished them good. Fr Stany recollected his memories with the Natak Sangh and praised its cultural activities.

Youth of the parish exhibited group dances and actors staged a comedy drama titled ‘Gurkar’ with splendid acting and jovial scenes. To appreciate their efforts, Fr S B Crasta presented them with rewards.

Teacher Jenevieve Pinto compered the programme and Wilson Baptist enthralled the gathering with Brass Band.
