Mangaluru, Jan 18: Kadri police have arrested a youth on charges of illegally possessing and selling the banned narcotic substance MDMA, following a tip-off received by the Mangaluru East police.
According to the police, based on credible information received on January 17, a team led by the Mangaluru East police inspector conducted a raid near an open space behind the Sri Durga Parameshwari Bhajana Mandir at Kailas Colony in Padavu gram limits. The information indicated that a youth was selling MDMA to students after arriving at the spot on a motorcycle.

During the raid, the police detained the accused and seized 5.20 grams of MDMA from his possession. The police also seized a Pulsar NS motorcycle allegedly used for the illegal activity. The total value of the seized narcotic substance and vehicle is estimated at around Rs 70,000.
The arrested accused has been identified as Jude Mathew, aged 20, son of Manoj Joseph, a resident of Chunamakkil House, Mutholapuram, Ernakulam district, Kerala.
Further investigation is underway.
