Kasargod, Jan 20: The inauguration and blessing of the new priests’ office, residence and hall of Kayyar Christ the King Church were held on Tuesday, January 20. The bishop of the Mangalore diocese, Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, inaugurated and blessed the new facilities.
Later, a formal programme was held, during which the bishop Dr Peter Paul Saldanha presided over the gathering.















































Kasargod deanery dean and parish priest of Bela Our Mother of Sorrows Church, Fr Stany Pereira; parish priest of Kayyar Christ the King Church, Fr Vishal Monis; parish pastoral council vice-president Roshan D’Souza; secretary Josvir D’Souza; superior of Kayyar Vijaya Yesu Raj Convent, Sr Reena; Oswald Rodrigues; Vincent D’Souza and others were present on the occasion.
Earlier in the morning, the Holy Mass was offered by Kasargod deanery dean Fr Stany Pereira. Parish priest of Kayyar Christ the King Church Fr Vishal Monis, parish priest of Permude St Lawrence Church Fr Herry D’Souza, Fr Ashwin D’Souza and Br Alvin Crasta were present.
During the programme, assistant parish priest of Permude St Lawrence Church Fr Claude Korda, Sr Asha Fernandes and others were also present.
Fr Vishal Monis welcomed the gathering, while Roshan D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks. Legion of Mary president Bhavya Monteiro compered the programme.
It may be recalled that on January 18, 2025, Kasargod deanery dean Fr Stany Pereira had laid the foundation stone for the priests’ residence and the new church building. The church construction work is progressing at a rapid pace.
