Mangaluru, Jan 22: The trailer of the much-awaited Tulu film ‘Kattemar’ has been released, significantly heightening anticipation among audiences. The film is set to hit screens on January 23.
Directed by Sachin Katla and Rakshith Ganiga, Kattemar had already sparked interest through its posters and songs. The film promises to present a distinct narrative within Coastalwood cinema, and the newly released trailer has further fuelled curiosity.

Kattemar revolves around Daiva (spirit worship) and the beliefs associated with it, narrating the story of a village depicted in a unique manner against the backdrop of age-old rituals and traditions.
The trailer opens with the lead actor in a rugged avatar, followed by glimpses of a romantic track. Towards the end, it highlights elements centred on faith in Daiva. Swaraj Shetty is seen portraying both a rugged character and a lover, while J P Thuminad appears in the role of a village head.
Dialogues hinting at hidden truths buried within the village soil and questioning whether Daiva is a myth or a reality stand out in the trailer. Music composed by Karthik Mulki adds depth and impact, while the visuals suggest that action sequences will be effectively balanced with humour.
Swaraj Shetty, known for his role in Kantara, plays the lead role, while Su From So fame J P Tuminad appears in another key role. The cast also includes Lanchulal, Basuma Kodagu, Mime Ramdas, Namitha Kiran, Pushparaj Bollar, Harshitha Kulal and Akanksha Rao.
