Mitchell poured in 26 points in the first half to set the tone, while Evan Mobley added 20 points and nine rebounds. Desmond Bane contributed 19 points, while Jalen Suggs had six assists. Anthony Black scored 14 points, and Wendell Carter Jr added nine points and seven rebounds.
Mitchell capped a strong first half with a pull-up jumper at the halftime buzzer to give Cleveland a 61-56 lead. He then scored eight straight points early in the third quarter to stretch the advantage and put the game firmly in the Cavaliers’ control.
The Magic were without Franz Wagner, who missed his third straight game due to a left high ankle sprain, while Cleveland also had key absentees due to injuries and personal reasons.
