Toronto, Jan 27: The Konkan Organization of Toronto (KOT) successfully concluded its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on January 10 at 11 Lee Centre Drive, Toronto. The activities and financials were discussed briefly with the member community and agreed upon, providing a consensus on the results and the path moving forward as part of the committee transition plan constituted in the associations incorporation guidelines. The existing committee was officially dissolved after a word of thanks and reflection by the preceding president Melwyn Sequeira.
With a shared purpose of reviewing the achievements and casting their votes for the future direction of the organization, members elected the new committee by show of hands voting, followed by passing a secondary motion. The selection proceedings were successfully conducted by Anthony Castelino, a long-term supporting member of KOT.
Introducing the 2026–2028 Executive Committee
KOT and its members are proud to introduce the team that will run the organization for the next two-year term. These individuals bring their unique capabilities and experience to serve the community and its mission of bringing together the members and maintaining the heritage of the Konkan culture through various events and activities.

A ‘thank you’ note followed by the next steps in formulating a plan to continue with the strong foundation laid by the previous team, the new president Melwin Lobo expressed his sincere gratitude and commitment to lead the team with passion, purpose and fulfilling KOTs mission of community involvement and growth – two of the main primary objectives unanimously echoed by the member community of all ages.
KOT will continue to share the accomplishments and activities here that benefit those living in the Toronto/GTA area or planning to make Toronto their new home.
