Patna, Jan 28: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for 50 new development projects valued at Rs 103 crore and inaugurated 40 completed works worth Rs 33 crore in Darbhanga district, as part of the ongoing Samriddhi Yatra.
During his visit, the Chief Minister reviewed model exhibition stalls set up by various government departments, highlighting key development initiatives being implemented across the district. He also chaired a review meeting to assess the progress of district-level schemes before addressing a large public gathering.

At an interaction programme held at Nagendra Jha Stadium, Nitish Kumar engaged with members of Jeevika self-help groups and local residents. He outlined the achievements of the state government, shared the roadmap for Bihar’s future growth, and reiterated his administration’s focus on inclusive and balanced development.
The event was attended by several senior leaders and officials, including Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, JD(U) National Working President and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Jha, Cabinet Ministers Vijay Kumar Choudhary and Madan Sahani, Darbhanga City MLA and BJP State President Sanjay Saraogi, along with district officials and other dignitaries.
As part of the tour, the chief minister reviewed the construction of the Inter-State Bus Terminal at Delhi Mod, a project announced during the earlier Pragati Yatra. The terminal, being built at a cost of Rs 88.78 crore, began construction on December 15, 2025, and is slated for completion by December 14, 2027. Officials informed him that procurement of machinery and materials is currently underway.
Nitish Kumar also visited the model exhibition at the bus stand complex, where replicas of 11 major schemes launched under the Pragati Yatra are on display to raise public awareness.
In addition, he inspected the under-construction terminal building at Darbhanga Airport, being developed at a cost of Rs 112 crore. Officials said around 50 per cent of the work has been completed, with the main structure expected to be finished within the next six months.
The chief minister further reviewed progress on Bihar’s first expressway—the Amas–Darbhanga Expressway—at its camp office. Once completed, the expressway will connect Darbhanga to NH-27, significantly boosting regional connectivity.
Officials also informed him that the state cabinet, in its January 13 meeting, approved the allocation of 50 acres of land for a proposed logistics park in the district. Nitish Kumar inspected the site and directed the district administration to begin the land acquisition process at the earliest.
The second phase of the Samriddhi Yatra began from Madhubani on January 27, with Wednesday marking the second day of the chief minister’s extensive development tour.
