Media Release

Mangaluru, Jan 30: ‘Sur Suray’ (Melodious Music), a musical programme featuring over 100 students from the Sur Sobhann Vocal Training School, is scheduled to take place on Sunday, February 1, at 6:30 pm at Kalaangann, Shaktinagar.

This event marks the 290th programme in the monthly theatre series of Mandd Sobhann. Children trained under the mentorship of renowned singer and Hindustani music teacher, Shilpa Tejaswini Cutinha, will present various Hindustani Ragas along with select Konkani songs.

A unique highlight of the evening will be an experimental performance, where select songs composed by Eric Ozario will be sung based on classical sargam for the very first time. The children will also take charge of the event by introducing the songs and compeering the programme. Additionally, parents of students will present a song.

Under the musical direction of emerging artiste Ketan Castelino, the performance will feature an instrumental ensemble comprising Ashwil Colaco, Hanson Lasrado, Shanan Cutinha, and Ayston Rodrigues.

The organizers have announced that entry to the programme is free and open to all.
