Udupi, Feb 3: Malpe police have arrested two accused who had been absconding for the past 11 years in connection with a theft case reported at Malpe beach.
The arrested accused are Asha Sumithra Krishna and Rekha Danappa. They were involved in a theft incident at Malpe Beach and had remained absconding without appearing before the court for nearly 11 years.
A team comprising Malpe police personnel Suresh Kumar, Vishwanath and Sinchana traced and arrested the accused from Hosamane area in Bhadravathi taluk of Shivamogga district on January 31.
The accused were produced before the court, which remanded them to judicial custody. They have been lodged at Mangaluru prison, police said.
