Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru
Mangaluru, Feb 5: The TV, OTT and dubbing rights of the Tulu-Kannada film Jai, starring Roopesh Shetty, have been sold to Z5 Kannada, marking what the makers describe as the highest-paid TV and OTT deal in the history of the Tulu film industry. The film will be streamed from February 6.
According to the film’s team, the deal sets a new benchmark for Tulu cinema, reflecting the growing market and reach of regional films across television and digital platforms. All broadcasting, OTT streaming and dubbing rights of the film have been successfully sold.

‘Jai’, which released on November 14 last year, is continuing a strong and consistent run across cinema halls in coastal Karnataka.
One of the biggest-budget Tulu films made so far, Jai has been widely appreciated for its scale, technical finesse and rooted storytelling. Shot extensively in and around Mangaluru, the film has struck a chord with audiences for its coastal flavour, engaging narrative and ensemble performances, leading to sustained occupancy, especially during weekends.
Director Roopesh Shetty, who earlier delivered successful films like Girgit, Gamjaal and Circus, returns with Jai, further strengthening his association with commercially successful Tulu cinema. The film is produced under the banners of RS Cinemas, Shoolin Films and Mugrody Productions.
The story and dialogues are penned by Prasanna Shetty Bailur, while Vinuth K has handled cinematography. Music is composed by Loy Valentine Saldanha and editing is by Rahul Vasishta. The film is produced by Anil Shetty, Sudhakar Shetty Mugrody and Manjunath Attavara, with Dikshith Alva as co-producer. Naveen Shetty Aryans has served as choreographer and executive producer.
The film boasts a strong cast including Suniel Shetty, Dr Devadas Kapikad, Raj Deepak Shetty, Naveen D Padil, Aravind Bolar, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Prasanna Shetty Bailur, Sandeep Shetty Manibettu and Umesh Mijar. Adviti Shetty plays the female lead.
