Udupi, Feb 28: "Former chief minister Yeddyurappa has said that he would not allow the father-son duo of JD(S) to enter the Vidhana Soudha. Does he think Vidhana Soudha is his father's property?" lashed out JD(S) state chief Kumaraswamy.
He was addressing a convention of JD(S) leaders and party workers at Royal Gardens, Kalsanka here on Tuesday February 28.
Kumaraswamy was referring to Yeddyurappa's recent allegations that he and his father Deve Gowda were influencing Sadananda Gowda in running the government, and that he would not allow them to enter Vidhana Soudha and be friendly with anybody from the BJP.
Continuing his diatribe against Yeddyurappa, Kumaraswamy said that the latter had not release even a paisa for the farmers. "To whom did he want to show off by bringing the Suvarna Bhoomi scheme?" HDK thundered.
"Though the farmers never approached me with their problems, I have granted them Rs 250 crore," he added.
He further said, "Yeddyurappa announced a grant of Rs 160 crore to fishermen, but out of that he gave only 16 crore."
He did not spare the Congress either. "The Congress brought C M Ibrahim as a 'side actor' to yesterday's convention," he said, adding that Congress candidate Jayaprakash Hegde did not speak anything on development.
"We must live with a sense of brotherhood in this society," he said.
JD(S) youth leader Madhu Bangarappa said that BJP had given bad administration to the state. "The BJP has worked hard only to get its hands on the CM chair," he said.
"If we want good administration we should all vote for Boje Gowda and make sure he comes to power. My father, the late Bangarappa, had said that if we want a powerful government we need Kumaraswamy to be at the helm of affairs in the state," he added.
JD(S) candidate Boje Gowda in his address said, "I am from a political background. Congress has not done justice to the Beary community. It was Kumaraswamy who started the Beary Academy in the state."
He made an appeal to Yeddyurappa not to play politics in the name of Datta Peetha, and urged the public to vote for Kumaraswamy's party.
Among those present were JD(S) leaders Deviprasad Shetty, Mahendra Kumar, Zameer Ahmed, Basavaraj Patil, Dharmegowda, P G R Sindhia and others.

Udupi, Feb 28: S L Boje Gowda, JD(S) candidate for the upcoming Udupi-Chikmagalur bypoll, submitted his nominiation papers to deputy commissioner Dr M T Reju here on Tuesday February 28.
Speaking on the occasion, JD(S) state chief H D Kumaraswamy said that earlier in 2008, Yeddyurappa had used his and his father Deve Gowda's names to campaign for the elections.
"Now once again, he is doing the same in his attempt to come back to power," he said, and asserted that Deve Gowda has never met Yeddyurappa and Sadananda Gowda even once ever since he became MP.
He further said that Yeddyurappa will not be successful and that he is misusing JD(S) name to come back to power. "There are many issues I want to bring to the open, and will do so at the JD(S) convention later."
JD(S) leaders Madhu Bangarappa, Zameer Ahmed and Deviprasad Shetty accompanied Boje Gowda.
