Bengaluru, Feb 8: The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has announced free driving training for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) community, in a move aimed at improving employment opportunities among youth.
The initiative will provide training for both Light Motor Vehicles (LMV) and Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMV), equipping candidates with professional driving skills to help them secure jobs in transport corporations or the private sector. Only SC candidates from Karnataka are eligible to apply.

Eligibility criteria
• Age limit: Applicants must be at least 20 years old and should not exceed 45 years.
• Educational qualification: Candidates should have passed a minimum of 8th or 10th standard, depending on the type of training opted for.
• Documents required: Caste certificate, income certificate, Aadhaar card, and passport-size photographs.
How to apply
Interested candidates can obtain the application form by visiting their nearest KSRTC divisional office or training centre. After scrutiny of applications, eligible candidates will be selected for the training programme.
Facilities
During the training period, candidates may be provided free accommodation or a stipend, subject to the rules of the respective division.
Candidates who successfully complete the training will receive assistance from KSRTC in obtaining an official Driving Licence. Additionally, preference will be given to trained candidates during future KSRTC driver recruitment drives.
