Sullia, Feb 9: A container truck slid into a roadside drain and got stuck near the private bus stand in Sullia town on Sunday, causing temporary disruption in the area.

According to sources, the incident occurred on the Mani–Mysuru National Highway passing through Sullia. The truck driver reportedly attempted to park the vehicle along the roadside but was unaware of the presence of an open drain. As a result, the container vehicle slipped into the drain and got stuck.

Later, a crane was pressed into service to remove the stranded vehicle and clear the road.

Following the incident, members of the public alleged that the mishap was also due to the city’s inadequate and poorly maintained drainage system, which they said poses a risk to motorists, especially along busy stretches of the town.
