Bantwal: Elderly pedestrian succumbs to injuries days after being hit by car

Bantwal, Feb 10: Purushothama Acharya (68), a resident of Kaithila near Vittal, who had sustained serious injuries in a road accident a few days ago, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at a hospital on Tuesday, February 10.

According to sources, the incident occurred at Mangalapadavu, where Purushothama Acharya was walking along the roadside when a speeding car allegedly hit him. The impact of the collision left him critically injured.

He was immediately rushed to a hospital for treatment. However, despite medical intervention, he failed to respond to treatment and breathed his last due to the severity of the injuries.

The deceased is survived by his wife and four children.

A case has been registered at the Vitla police station in connection with the incident, and further investigation is underway.
