The main accused has been identified as Sushanth Poojary alias Sushanth Ankush Poojary alias Sushanth G Karkera (32). The police have also arrested Bhaskar, a resident of Mulki, for his role in the scam.

The matter came to light after a woman filed a complaint stating that Sushanth had befriended her through an online matrimonial platform and married her in Navi Mumbai on February 2, 2025.
