Lasur, Feb 11: A horrifying case of filicide has come to light near Lasur railway station, where a mother allegedly conspired to murder her son due to his constant misbehaviour. The crime was executed with the help of her son-in-law and his friend, who were paid Rs 30,000 to carry out the killing. The body, found in a well in Shahanwazpur, has been identified and the case cracked by Shilligaon police.

The accused have been named as Kamalsingh Singal, the son-in-law residing in Takliwadi, and his friend, Gorakh Sheku Ahire of Ekhburji Waghlgaon. Both have been arrested, and further investigations are ongoing.

According to police, on 26 January, the body of a man aged between 35 and 40 years was found floating in a well in Shahanwazpur. The body was wrapped in white polythene and tied with a rope, with stones placed inside to keep it submerged, indicating a premeditated murder. However, identifying the deceased initially proved challenging.

Investigation revealed that the mother, frustrated by her son’s constant trouble at home, decided to have him killed. She enlisted the help of her son-in-law Kamalsingh and his friend Gorakh. Gorakh was reportedly paid Rs 30,000 to commit the murder. After the killing, the body was wrapped in polythene and disposed of in the Shahanwazpur well near Waghlgaon.

Police attempted to identify the deceased using clothing, but relatives initially refused to confirm his identity. Eventually, a DNA sample was taken from the mother and sent to a forensic lab. The DNA report confirmed her involvement, after which she confessed to orchestrating the murder. Both her son-in-law and his friend have been arrested, and police continue to investigate the case further.

This shocking incident has left the local community stunned and highlights the extreme lengths to which familial disputes can escalate.
