Mangalore: Parlour Raid - Three Personnel of Kadri Police Suspended

Mangalore: Parlour Raid - Three Personnel of Kadri Police Suspended

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore

Mangalore, Feb 29: Following the claims made by a beauty parlour owner that the February 13 raid on his parlour 'Moon Shine' was 'fixed' by police for not paying 'hafta', three personnel of Kadri police have been suspended.

Among the three are inspector Kiran Kumar, head constable Shivappa and constable Pramod. Their suspension orders will be in place until further notice.

File photo of CCTV image released by parlour owner

The suspension orders were given by police commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh.

It may be recalled that Kadri police had raided Moon Shine Beauty Parlour and Spa on February 13, and a close to two weeks later, owner Sathish Rai produced CCTV images alleging that Kiran Kumar and other policemen had planted condoms in the parlour drawer and faked the raid as Rai had refused to pay them hafta.

I am sure he will not do such things. There are people who cannot digest the good works done by him and they have fixed him in this.. I wish and i am sure he will come out clean.

Police are doing this everywhere. Most of the illegal things happen because people pay hafta to police. I live in Bangalore and Dhabas serve you liquor illegally as if they are bar and restaurants. The truth as seen by us with our eyes is that everyday a police vehicle comes and stays outside a little distance from the dhaba and a man from dhaba runs and gives few high denomination notes and a food packet for all in the vehicle. We were later told by dhaba people that if they dont pay for 2 consecutive days, 3rd day excise and police raid the dhaba for selling liquor illegally and seal the dhaba! to be opened only after greasing hands adequately!

This is just like the fake encounter killings that police do in Gujarat. Police in india are highly corrupt. There are more theives in the police department than on the streets.

Pay money, or we will kill you - this will very soon be the motto of police in karnataka. Wait and watch.

I know their families will survive as these guys must have made enough money by taking bribe through many sources.I feel sorry for the ladies whose image has been tarnished with this kind of reports given the the media to the police. Mr. Sathish Rai did the right thing in exposing the true picture of the the three cops by way of the CCTV.

Ask any business person and they will tell you how hafta is collected. Say for example-transport- each transport owner has to pay 7000 rupees tp the local police station the police get a share at the station. SI gets one lac a month from it and rest goes to police head quarters and they take their cut and then it goes to Bangalore to IG office and from there it goes to home ministers office. And this is only one section of hardworking people.

Every police right from constable to circle or a senior officer think that he is sabka bhap. The moment you enter a police station you feel like a unwanted person or feel like you are at a uncomfortable zone. The reason is every police is corrupt in one or the other way. I agree that they are paid less and cannot g on strike to demand higher salaries .But they can appeal to court through a legal process that the money paid as salary is not sufficient for their survival. What they do is they find easy way to make money and we are unfortunate that they are protector of the law.
