Kundapur, Feb 13: Police rescued a helpless woman and her three young children who were found in a distressed condition near ‘Seawalk Resto Café’ close to Kodi Seawalk.
The woman, along with her three small children, was seen standing in grief. Sub-inspector Mukta Bai of Gangolli coastal police station, who was on rounds duty, along with Kodi beat staff Gopala Kharvi, noticed them and inquired about their situation.

It was found that Sangeeta (27), wife of Badresh, a resident of a slum in Ganganahalli of Bengaluru Rural district, was wandering without any support along with her son Ajay (9), daughter Khushi (8), and daughter Roja (5). The family had been leading a destitute and nomadic life without any direction or support.
When the woman requested help for her and her children’s future and for the children’s education, SI Mukta Bai and Gopala Kharvi counselled the woman and children. With the assistance of Kodi-based social worker Ashok Poojary, the children were admitted to Sri Krishna Balaniketana at Kukkikatte in Udupi.
Meanwhile, Jyothi and Vikas, the couple running Kodi Seawalk Resto Cafe, voluntarily agreed to provide shelter and employment to Sangeeta. With her consent, she was placed under their care accordingly.
