Udupi, Feb 13: Two individuals have been arrested in connection with a fraud case involving the alleged misuse of a Union Bank seal in property tax payments in Udupi.
A special police team was formed to trace the accused and recover the property involved in the offence. On Feburary 12, officers apprehended the two suspects near Union Bank in the Rajangana area of Udupi.
The accused have been identified as Supesh (25), a resident of 76 Badagubettu, Kasturba Nagar, Udupi, and Shantha (43), a resident of Moodu Alevoor, Kunthala Nagar, Udupi.

During interrogation, based on their voluntary statements, the police seized the seal allegedly used in the fraud, along with other related documents. Further legal action is being taken against the accused.
The operation was carried out under the direction of superintendent of police Hariram Shankar, IPS, Udupi district, and under the guidance of additional superintendent of police Sudhakar Nayak and DySP Belliyappa of Udupi sub-division.
The investigation was led by Udupi Town police station inspector-in-charge Mahesh Prasad P, with sub-inspector Gangappa S and staff members Surendra D, Santosh Rathod, Netravathi, Pavithra, and Spoorthi assisting in the operation.
