Mangaluru: St Agnes students shine at National Special Olympics meet

Mangaluru, Feb 16: Students of St Agnes Special School brought laurels to the state by delivering an impressive performance at the National-Level Special Olympics Athletics Meet and selection trials for the International Special Olympics.

The event was held at Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, Haryana, from February 4 to 6. Four students from the institution represented the state and secured multiple medals in various events.

Anston Rodrigues clinched a gold medal in shot put and a silver medal in the 100 metres race.

Assish won a gold medal in the relay event and secured silver in the 200 metres race.

Alfaz bagged a silver medal in the 100 metres race.

Pavitra finished fifth in the 100 metres race, putting up a commendable performance at the national meet.

The achievements of the students have been widely appreciated, bringing pride to the institution and the state.
