Udupi, Feb 17: A youth from Udupi district who had travelled to Guwahati in Assam with a group of friends has passed away after reportedly falling ill during the trip.
The deceased has been identified as Ashok Acharya (33), a resident of Sarkarigudde near Katapady in Kapu taluk, Udupi district.
According to sources, Ashok was part of a team that had gone on a tour to Guwahati in Assam. During the trip, he is said to have developed health complications due to blood clotting in the brain, which left him critically ill.
He was immediately shifted to a local hospital in Guwahati for treatment. However, despite medical efforts, he could not be saved.
The untimely death of the young man has plunged his family members and relatives into deep grief. Further details regarding the repatriation of the body are awaited.
