Srinivas University hosts insightful webinar on cabin crew roles in modern aviation

Mangaluru, Feb 21: The Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University, successfully organised a highly informative and engaging webinar on the topic “Roles, responsibilities and professional competencies of cabin crew in modern aviation” on February 20 at the Aviation Campus.

The session was conducted for the students of BBA Aviation Management, Aviation and Logistics Management and MBA Aviation Management with the objective of providing practical exposure and industry-oriented knowledge about the aviation sector.

The event was successfully conducted with the constant support and guidance of Dr Pavithra Kumari, dean; Roshin K Sibi, head of the department; and Varshitha, guest lecture coordinator, along with the cooperation and coordination of faculty members and staff of the Institute of Aviation Studies.

The speaker for the session was Deepa Mahesh, cabin crew at Air India Express, who shared valuable professional experience and practical insights into the aviation industry. She explained that the role of cabin crew goes beyond passenger service, focusing strongly on safety, security, and emergency preparedness. She highlighted key competencies such as communication skills, grooming, teamwork, time management, and the ability to handle crises calmly. Deepa Mahesh also briefly discussed pre-flight and in-flight duties, safety procedures, and handling medical emergencies.

By sharing her career journey and industry experiences, she motivated students and clarified their doubts regarding recruitment, eligibility, and career growth. The session was informative, inspiring, and beneficial for all participants. The webinar proved to be highly inspiring and informative, enriching students with practical knowledge and confidence to pursue careers in aviation.
