Udupi, Feb 20: A newly constructed toilet block was inaugurated at Government Higher Primary School, Polipu, in Kaup on February 20, by Kapu MLA Suresh Shetty Gurme in the presence of officials from Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL), the school headmaster, and members of the School Development and Monitoring Committee (SDMC).

The sanitation facility, developed to strengthen basic infrastructure at the school, aims to ensure improved hygiene and convenience for students. The initiative was supported as part of community development efforts, reflecting coordination between public representatives, corporate stakeholders and school authorities.

Addressing those present, the MLA stressed the importance of adequate sanitation facilities in government schools, noting that proper infrastructure plays a crucial role in enhancing student health, attendance and academic performance.

The MRPL official highlighted the company’s commitment towards supporting educational institutions through corporate social responsibility initiatives, particularly in the areas of sanitation and infrastructure development.

The headmaster and SDMC members expressed gratitude to all concerned for facilitating the project and stated that the new toilet block would greatly benefit students and staff alike.
