Cubs & Bulbuls of Mount Carmel Central School celebrate World Thinking Day

Mangaluru, Feb 22: The Cubs and Bulbuls of Mount Carmel Central School celebrated World Thinking Day on February 19 with great joy, pride and enthusiasm.

The event began with an all-faith prayer, followed by a warm and graceful welcome speech delivered by Bulbul Sahithya Sirimane and Cub Vivaan Pramod Rao. Soon after, a delightful welcome act was presented by the students, setting a vibrant tone for the programme. The celebration highlighted the spirit of unity, service, friendship and leadership.

The students presented a lively skit titled ‘We Are Cubs and Bulbuls,’ along with an action song and a patriotic song. Their performances reflected the values of the Scout and Guide Movement founded by Robert Baden-Powell and Olave Baden-Powell.

The chief guest for the occasion was Ilona Edmund Machado, assistant district commissioner for Guides, Mangalore North and also a teacher coordinator of the school. In her inspiring address, she spoke about the importance of the service, promise and duty in the Cubs and Bulbuls movement. She encouraged the students to always uphold the values of discipline, responsibility, and selfless service.

The school administrator, Sr Carissima addressed the gathering, urging students to be kind and responsible towards plants and animals and to treat one another with love, respect, and compassion.

The Bunnies joined the celebration wearing their neat uniforms, adding charm and delight to the occasion.

At the end the vote of thanks was proposed by Bulbuls Lenora Pia Lobo and Joanna Saldanha. The programme was compered by Salomi Clare Albuquerque, Namasvi Poojari, Sriansh S Rai, and Samuel Criston D’Souza who confidently guided the audience through the celebration.

The celebration left everyone with cherished memories of a meaningful and inspiring World Thinking Day.
