Mangaluru: Workshop on yoga, naturopathy for obesity management held at Yenepoya

Mangaluru, Feb 23: A Yoga & Naturopathy Workshop Programme for the Management of Obesity was successfully organized by Yenepoya Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences College and Ministry of AYUSH Hospital, in association with the Central Council for Research in Yoga & Naturopathy.

The workshop was conducted on February 21 at EMD, Yenepoya Medical College Hospital. The programme commenced with an inaugural address by Dr Mukthar, head of the department of general medicine.

The workshop was organized as part of a comprehensive yoga & naturopathy intervention programme aimed at managing obesity through a natural and holistic approach. The initiative focused on creating awareness about lifestyle modification, therapeutic yoga practices, naturopathy treatments, scientific dietary guidance, and preventive healthcare strategies.

The resource persons for the workshop included Dr Soumya Mahesh Pandith, Dr Padmashree Rao, Dr Abhijna, and Dr Ajith, who delivered detailed sessions on naturopathy principles, therapeutic yoga modules, diet interventions, and lifestyle correction strategies for effective obesity management.

Approximately 120 participants attended the workshop and actively benefited from the informative and practical sessions. As part of the holistic experience, healthy naturopathy-based meals were provided for lunch and evening refreshments.

The programme concluded successfully with positive feedback from participants, reinforcing the importance of yoga and naturopathy in combating lifestyle disorders such as obesity through safe, natural, and sustainable methods.
