The celebrations were for Simran Kharb, who secured an impressive All India Rank 66 in one of the country’s toughest and most prestigious examinations. Born to Jagbir Kharb, an income tax officer posted in Shimla, Simran’s achievement was more than just personal success; it was the fulfilment of a long-cherished dream nurtured by her family. Growing up amid simple surroundings, she carried big aspirations in her heart and remained committed to making her parents proud. Her path from village lanes to competitive exam halls was shaped by focus, resilience, and a deep sense of purpose.
Simran completed her schooling at a private institution in Safidon, near her native village, before moving to Delhi for higher education. She pursued both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Delhi University, where her civil services preparation began in earnest. The transition to a new city, a demanding academic environment, and intense competition made her journey challenging, yet she remained steadfast in her goal.
Her success did not come instantly. After facing setbacks in her first two attempts, she refused to lose hope. Instead of giving in to disappointment, she analysed her mistakes, refined her strategy, and prepared with renewed determination. Her third attempt became the breakthrough moment that placed her among the top 100 rank holders in the country, proving that persistence and patience can transform failure into success.
Living independently in Delhi, Simran built a disciplined and balanced routine that became the foundation of her preparation.
