Iran claims fresh strikes on Israeli defence sites; Israel says senior Iranian officials killed

Daijiworld Media Network – Tehran

Tehran, Mar 1: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it launched a fresh wave of strikes late on Saturday targeting key Israeli defence installations, including military bases and the defence ministry.

In a statement posted on Telegram, the Revolutionary Guards said the third and fourth waves of attacks targeted the Israeli army naval base and warship dock at Haifa Port, the Ramat David air base, the defence ministry in the Hakirya area of Tel Aviv, as well as military-industrial complexes in Beit Shemesh and Ashdod.

The claims could not be independently verified.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military said it had killed seven senior Iranian officials in its operations, including the head of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, General Mohammad Pakpour. Iranian authorities have not immediately confirmed the claim.

The latest developments mark a sharp escalation in tensions between the two sides, raising concerns over a broader regional conflict.
