Mangaluru, Mar 2: The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) organized a Dental Health Awareness Session on February 28, for the students of classes IV to VII at the auditorium of St Aloysius College Higher Primary School.
The chief guest for the session was Dr Sameena, MDS assistant professor at Yenepoya Dental College. The programme began with a warm welcome address by the headmistress, Jositta Noronha, who welcomed the gathering and emphasized the importance of dental hygiene among children. PTA member Rupal D Sa introduced the chief guest to the audience. As a token of respect and appreciation the Headmistress presented Dr Samreena with a sapling.









Dr Samreena conducted an engaging and interactive session with the students. She explained the importance of maintaining healthy teeth, proper brushing techniques and daily oral care routines. She also educated the students about the different types of teeth and their functions. An important highlight of the session was her guidance on what should be done if a tooth accidentally falls off. The students actively participated by asking questions and sharing their experiences.
The session concluded on a cheerful note with Dr Sameena’s inspiring message, “Keep Smiling, Keep Shining.” The programme ended with a vote of thanks proposed by the headmistress, followed by the handing over of a memento by the PTA as a token of gratitude.
The session was highly informative and beneficial for the students, creating awareness about the importance of dental health and hygiene.
